Jimerson Live at The Kennedy Center
Except for disagreements on when to stand, the audience showed nearly as much harmony as the music, which included hymns and opera tunes as well as patriotic and sentimental songs. This program is essentially an excercise in nostalgia, and Yankee and Confederate loyalists seemed to agree (quite correctly) in regretting that they don't make songs like "The Bonnie Blue Flag," "The Vacant Chair," "Just Before the Battle, Mother" and "Home, Sweet Home," anymore.
"Jimmerson has an ideal voice for -- not heavily operatic but light, clear and agile, witha knack for getting the words across."
-- Joseph McLellan, The Washington Post
